I know why

I don’t know

Why

I keep listening to things that make me

Cry

I have the option of not

Watching

They don’t. They bear the

Marking

Of white violence

Constantly

They’re lives in chains

Metaphorically – physically

Unable to move forward, as we press them

Down – on the ground

They cannot breath. The white shadow pursuing like

A hound

Oppressing, relentlessly. But I can

Choose

To act – counteract, to

Lose

The shadow that I cast, undeservingly, and so I

Watch

To burn the feeling in my heart and

Catch

A glimpse of the pain that makes me

Cry I know why
